Homemade Play-dough!

A couple weeks ago, I found (well, my friend Sara actually found it, but shared) a great recipe for all-natural, playdoh that I just had to try. You might have seen some if your kids brought it home with them from church - or even smelled it, as you walked past the preschool classroom at church.

It requires very few ingredients, no cooking, and since it is all-natural, you won't have to worry if your kid decides to eat some!

You need:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/8 cup salt
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Natural dye (I chose BROWN - 3/8 cup + 1 tbsp hot water + 4 tbsp cocoa powder. There are others listed below!)

In a medium-size bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the oil and your chosen natural dye, and stir well. Knead the dough on a floured surface for a few minutes. If the clay is too soft, add a bit more flour. Store the clay in airtight containers in the refrigerator.

Other Natural dyes

  • FUCHSIA - 3/8 cup hot beet juice (use the liquid from a 15-ounce can of beets)
  • ORANGE - 3/8 cup hot water + 1 tbsp paprika
  • YELLOW - 3/8 cup hot water + 1 tsp tumeric

Find time to enjoy life with your children today!
